Information for Employers

Employers can gain access to an untapped labour force.  People with disabilities are motivated to work and employers can receive the professional support services from the Jersey Employment Trust.  The services that we offer fall primarily into three categories: Recruitment Services, Workplace Support & Training, and Information Advice & Guidance.

Recruitment Services  Recruitment and Selection - Using JET services

JET offers employers a comprehensive recruitment service, with full screening of candidates, analysis of the job and job matching service with our candidates.  All JET candidates have received specific training to develop their generic skills for today’s job market.  This training can include education courses, work experience in the commercial environment, CV and interview support and much more.  Services available include:

  •  Screening
  •  Job analysis
  •  Job matching

Workplace Support and Training

Once the person is placed we can offer a professional on the job training service to maximise the new employee’s potential and ensure that the training process does not detract from the employer’s core business purpose.  Further training services are available if the job should change to meet the commercial needs of the business or if the employee is promoted. Services available include:

  •  Appropriate support in the workplace
  •  Risk assessment and health & safety
  •  Job retention

Information, Advice and Guidance

JET can provide information, advice and guidance services to employers wishing to employ or retain a person with a disability. We can provide advice on adaptations and grants, provide links with specialised agencies regarding Employment Law and Social Security.  We can also boost the current training provision to existing staff by providing disability awareness training.  Services available include:
