James Hadley-Piggin, teacher and ultra sportsman
I am a qualified teacher with experience in both primary and secondary teaching. Originally a qualified English teacher, I realised that my passion for education was with the younger students and I currently teach a range of year groups from nursery to Year 6. Outside of school, I am a very sporty individual as well as being a strong advocate for neurodiversity. I have completed a range of challenges including teaching myself how to break dance and tap dance, two triathlons, two ultra marathons, and in the summer of 2025 I ran seven marathons in seven days across England, Wales and the Channel Islands to raise awareness of neurodiversity and demonstrate that no matter what hands you’re dealt, fight for what you believe in and never stop believing.
As a neurospicy (multiple neurodiversities) adult in the workplace, I wholeheartedly believe in inclusion and diversity for everyone. Listening to the amazing work of the Ambassadors, I thought ‘you speak my language’ and felt empowered to join the cause. I know firsthand what it’s like to feel discriminated against for being different and I am determined to advocate for change to ensure everyone’s voices are heard and represented across Jersey.
