Chief Executive Officer

Jersey Employment Trust (JET) is seeking an inspiring and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead our organisation into its next chapter. This is a rewarding opportunity to shape the future of an organisation dedicated to improving employment opportunities and outcomes for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

About the role

Working closely with our Board of Trustees, you will set JET’s strategic direction and lead its delivery. You will provide visible, inclusive and values-led leadership, support and develop our Senior Management Team, and ensure that our services remain person-centred, effective and responsive to the people we support.

You will also be responsible for JET’s financial and operational sustainability, effective governance and risk management. As our principal executive representative, you will build strong relationships with Government, employers, funders, partners and the wider community, championing JET’s purpose and strengthening our influence and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Board to develop JET's vision, strategy and long-term priorities.
• Turn strategy into clear plans, measurable objectives and high quality delivery.
• Lead, support and develop JET’s people, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and accountable culture.
• Ensure services deliver meaningful outcomes and continue to improve in response to need and evidence.
• Maintain strong financial management, organisational resilience and effective use of resources.
• Build trusted partnerships and represent JET confidently with senior stakeholders and across the community.
• Ensure strong governance, safeguarding, risk management and compliance.

About you

You will be an accomplished senior leader with experience of leading an organisation, substantial function or complex service. Strategic and commercially astute, you will know how to translate ambition into practical plans and measurable results while maintaining sound financial oversight and organisational sustainability.

You will bring strong people leadership, sound judgement and the credibility to build trusted relationships across Government, business and the voluntary and community sectors. You will understand effective governance and organisational risk and be a clear, confident communicator who shares our commitment to diversity, inclusion and person-centred services.

Knowledge of Jersey’s economic, employment and social environment would be an advantage, as would experience of disability, supported employment, vocational services, public funding, partnership development or income generation.
