Work plays such an important role in all our lives, and its influence ripples into our sense of identity and wellbeing. When people feel supported and included at work, it has a powerful impact on every aspect of their lives. As a JET Ambassador, I’m committed to advocating for truly inclusive environments, where people are valued for their contributions, not limited by their differences, and where those navigating confidence challenges or living with visible or hidden disabilities or health conditions feel seen, respected and empowered.

I’ve found it incredibly rewarding to coach and mentor younger colleagues who lacked confidence or direction, and to support team members with language barriers as they build their skills and flourish in their roles.

Through friends, I’ve witnessed the positive impact of JET’s return-to-work programmes and how those with disabilities thrive when supported by inclusive employers who truly meet their needs. These experiences inspire my commitment to supporting JET in helping people get into employment that’s right for them and fostering environments where everyone, regardless of their personal challenges, feels capable, valued and empowered.

Becoming a JET Ambassador felt like a natural next step. Having personally experienced moments of doubt and difficulty in finding my voice, I am now dedicated alongside JET to helping others discover theirs and achieve their employment goals.
