Being in my role means a lot to me, particularly given that autistic individuals worldwide continue to experience disproportionate barriers to employment. As an autistic adult, I feel a strong responsibility to advocate for younger disabled people, ensuring they encounter support, understanding and opportunity far earlier than I did.
My journey has not been without its challenges. Social interaction continues to present difficulties, and my career has been built atop persistence through personal and professional obstacles. Each step forward reflects growth earned through determination and resilience.
I’m fortunate to share a full and varied life with a supportive husband. I am a science fiction enthusiast, film lover and a passionate online tabletop gamer, well acquainted with the balancing act between leisure and daily responsibilities.
As an Ambassador for JET, I hope to contribute meaningfully by sharing both my professional insight and lived experiences. My goal for this role is to raise awareness of the challenges autistic people face and to encourage systems of empowerment where all individuals are able to thrive.
