Sarah Sleep, Sustainability & Community Co‑ordinator, CI Coop
I am immensely proud of my role at the Channel Islands Co-operative, which allows me to focus on issues that matter deeply to me while spending time with our community groups, charities and other groups supporting our islands. Outside of work, I love being in nature, from walking, birdwatching and foraging to spending time in my garden.
JET’s ethos, message and mission are values I wholeheartedly support. My late mother, who passed in 2019, worked as an employer training coordinator at JET and was deeply passionate about the work she did. I have seen first-hand the incredible impact JET has on so many lives, and I feel honoured to join the Ambassadors team. For me, this is about helping build a world where tolerance is eradicated and inclusion and equity are not lessons to be taught, but values every individual grows up with.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dean many years ago. My memories go from gigs and birthday bashes to family Easter lunches in France. Dean then ended up working closely with my mum and was also a wonderfully supportive figure to my younger brother, who benefited from JET’s services after college. Dean’s tireless efforts gave families and individuals a voice, opportunity and strength, and I am passionate about continuing that legacy by supporting JET’s fantastic work.
